Joint Industry Statement on Article 29 PPWR

EuPC strongly supports this joint industry call urging the European Commission to swiftly adopt a delegated act exempting pallet wrappings and straps from the 40% reuse target under Article 29(1) PPWR, in accordance with the exemption criteria set out in Article 29(18), notably environmental issues and economic constraints.

EuPC has been closely engaged on this file from the start, commissioning dedicated environmental and economic studies on the impacts of mandatory reuse and subsequently activating its sector group EuPF (European Plastic Films) to drive further work and industry coordination on pallet wrapping and straps.

This strong and broad industry signal underlines the need for an evidence-based and workable solution that safeguards efficient supply chains and Europe’s industrial competitiveness.
